Veer Stroller Wagon Accessories – Treat Yourself

Veer Stroller Wagon Accessories

Alright, so if you’re here, you’ve either taken the plunge and purchased a Veer Cruiser or you’re seriously contemplating whether or not you should get one.

Either way, congratulations! No doubt you’ve done your research and discovered what we believe is the best stroller wagon on the market.

If you are still on the fence, consider reading our stand alone Veer Cruiser review – or take a step back and check out every stroller wagon brand available in our best stroller wagons guide.

Now, it’s time to think about what accessories you need to kit out the stroller wagon of your dreams.

Trust me, with Veer there’s no lack of options.

Coolers and Beach Wheels and Cargo Nets, oh my!

There is an ever growing list of accessories Veer offers for their stroller wagon, and we’re going to try to break it down and make sense of it all.

The Break Down

We get it, Veer Cruiser is expensive.  It’s one of the pricier stroller wagons out there – especially when you start throwing in all the extras and add-on’s.

After ponying up the moola to get the wagon itself, you may not want to immediately spend another couple hundred dollars on the perks – which is understandable.

So what do you really need?

How do you gauge which accessories are worth it, which ones may fit your needs, and which ones to skip entirely?

Here we grade what add on’s are going to be critical, and which ones are more style over substance.

Lets dig into all the various accessories for the Veer Cruiser stroller wagon.

Must Have’s

There are only two must have accessories, but they are non-negotiable, you need these.

1. Snack Tray

Guess what, you don’t have an option with the snack tray because this is one of only two accessories (the other being cup holders) that are included with your purchase of a Veer Cruiser.

And boy, will you use it.

Snack Tray for Veer Stroller Wagon

It’s actually a huge bummer when our family ventures out and we forget the snack tray, which I’ve definitely done before.

We get to our destination, kids hop out of the car and into the wagon, I bust out the snacks and water bottles – only to gasp in horror as I realize the snack tray is still back at home.

“What have I done?”

Everyone survives, but cruising is oh so much easier with the snack tray.

2. Foldable Storage Basket

Stuff, stuff, stuff.

Parents have a ton of it. Diaper bags and stuffies and blankets and wipes.  Going anywhere with a baby requires a lot of stuff.

There are some great diaper bags that actually latch right onto the handlebar of your trusty stroller or stroller wagon (see No Reception Club), but sooner or later you just need more space.

Storage Basket for Veer Stroller Wagon

The Veer foldable storage basket (like the entire wagon itself) is completely hose washable.

You can even take it off and throw it in the washing machine should you get a huge spill or mess going on here (yeah right, like kids ever spill stuff all over themselves and make huge messes).

It’s super easy to attach and it doesn’t need to be removed when you fold the stroller wagon up – I find the basket actually helps the wagon stand upright after folding.

Veer Stroller Wagon Storage basket

Final perk, the basket has this sweet zipper to help you contain bulky items.

In my mind, I believe the mesh zip-up also deters anyone from trying to steal items out of your stroller wagon – they would have to unzip this portion of the basket to get into your stuff, but it’s not like I’ve ever caught anybody in the act or anything.

If you’re purchasing one stroller wagon accessory and one only, make it the foldable storage basket.

Maybes – Depending on your Vibe

These accessories are definitely worthy of consideration, it just kind of depends on the makeup of your family and what’s going to move the needle.

I found it easier to categorize using three different sectors.

One, my top favorites overall.

Regardless of what your family gets into, these are add on’s you’ll love having on your stroller wagon.

Second, the beach.

If you live near a beach or envision lots of trips to the shoreline with your cruiser, these accessories move up the list.

Third, style.

These are the accessories that set it off, but probably won’t add any new functionality to your ride.

Hey, sometimes looking good is all that matters.

Honorable Mentions

Three quick honorable mentions before I share my top faves, these are the accessories required for very particular circumstances.

1. Infant Car Seat Adapter

It goes without saying, but if you’ve got a newborn, or (shh we won’t tell) you envision having more, my next buy would be the infant car seat adapter.

The less transfers for parents the better – having a newborn remain sleeping in their car seat while you take them out of the car and plop them down onto the stroller wagon is an incredible feeling.

Infant Car Seat for Veer Stroller Wagon

No waking up.  No crying.  No fussing.  Just a baby that’s still asleep and a parent that’s ready to roll.

You feel like an absolute pro mommy or daddy.

Veer Cruiser is the only stroller wagon I know of that has four different mounting positions, making it incredibly unique and versatile.

Any young family with a newborn (and plans to have more kids) interested in a stroller wagon needs the infant car seat carrier – it’s going to change the way you travel out into the world for many years to come.

2. Nap System

Similar to the infant car seat adapter, this is an accessory for families with tiny tots – not so much older toddlers.

Veer Stroller Wagon Nap System

My children sort of hit that sweet spot where they were done napping sometime in their three-year-old stage.

Especially if we’re out on an adventure with our stroller wagon, by the age of four naps are kind of out of the question (unless maybe someone gets sick).

We did however have multiple times when our kids were younger, and they’d just doze off in the wagon.

We would stuff some shopping bags and blankets down in the footwell to make a makeshift crib out of the stroller wagon — but the Nap System has perfected the bedding.

Veer bug shield

Included with your purchase is a bug shield to create a little nook for your baby, and Nap System is a great addition if you plan on using the Veer Cruiser with children before they have the ability to skip naps.

Also, it makes a great changing station when you’re out in a public space – the less awkward stares at me covered in baby poop the better.

If you fall into this category, you may also enjoy our reviews on the best baby wipes and organic baby formulas.

Same as the infant car seat adapter, if you’ve got teen tiny tots Nap System is worthy of consideration as an initial accessory purchase.

3. Comfort Seat

The other accessory I just gotta shout out is the Comfort Seat for Toddler, which includes a 5-point harness.

Veer Stroller Wagon comfort seat

We ourselves don’t own the comfort seats, but we did rent an All-Terrain Veer Cruiser for the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas that included these – it was great for our one-year-old who needed the extra padding and security of the extra harness straps.

If your family has multiple kids under four years of age, and you really nerd out on safety (gotta keep ’em safe, right?) the Comfort Seat is a good option as the first accessory to purchase.

My only gripe is that it probably won’t get multiple years of use, more like a brief season of life.  Once the kids get older, they don’t even want to buckle up, regardless of seating amenities.

Playing Favorites

1. Cargo Nets

My next favorite stroller wagon accessory might surprise you, but again as a parent with young kids, life is all about stuff.

Veer Stroller Wagon cargo nets

Tissues and wipes and baby dolls and, oh yea, all the things you used to carry around with you before having children.

Sometimes I wish I had three hands to hold all the random items thrown at me constantly.

When you purchase the cargo net, it actually comes with a bundle of two (one for each sidewall of the stroller wagon) – and they get used constantly.

Whether it becomes a spot for the children to store extra toys that entertain them during your travels, or a parent zone for mommy to put her flip flops, the cargo nets are worth their weight in gold.

Saving you an extra hand when you need it, easy peasy to attach and detach, cargo nets would be my next top stroller wagon accessory for Cruiser.

2. Parent Organizer

Again, the theme is stuff and where to put it all.

The Parent Organizer is a bit of a safer enclosed place to store more important things you want at arms reach – keys, wallet, phone and other essential parent items.

Some also use it specifically for baby gear – this can become the spot for your diapers, wipes, formula and sippy bottles.

Parent organizer on the side of Veer wagon

It really is up to the user, the main goal here is more space on your stroller wagon (also six unique color options to add some flair).

The Veer Parent Organizer can be attached in two spots, either on the handlebar or on the side of the wagon.

Worth noting – if you choose to attach to the handlebar, it’s going to sort of diminish the use of the cup holders that come with your stroller wagon.

To me, I love these cupholders because of how they hinge on the handlebar itself – meaning when you drop down the bar to go from push to pull mode, your drink doesn’t spill onto the ground.

Even though the Parent Organizer has mesh siding built to hold drinks, it’s not going to rotate like the standard cupholders – any cup with an open lid will spill out of the Parent Organizer when you drop down the handlebar.

For this reason, I like to do one of two things – either attach the Parent Organizer on the side of the wagon instead of the handlebar, or, I would recommend purchasing Catch All, next on our list of faves.

3. Catch All

It’s a cupholder – only better.

The Catch All (and the larger Catch All XL) are made of spandex material to grip bottles and drinks a bit firmer than the standard plastic cupholders included with your Veer Cruiser stroller wagon.

Veer Stroller Wagon catch all

Beyond just being a better cupholder, the Catch All is also the perfect spot for keys, phones, and other items you might not feel as safe dropping in the dinky plastic cupholders.

We love how there are multiple color options – we also love how Catch All can be attached to the stroller wagon itself (as opposed to only the handlebar).

You actually have the ability to attach up to six Catch All’s to your stroller wagon – four on the wagon and two on the handlebar.  I honestly don’t know of any other stroller wagon brand with the ability to comfortably prevent six drinks from spilling (eight total if you count the two cupholders on the snack tray).

Catch up for Veer Stroller Wagon

Cool color options, the flexibility to attach to multiple spots on the stroller wagon, and allowing you to carry more stuff is why Catch All ranks high on my list of top accessories.

The Beach

Summer summer summer time.  There are a couple stroller wagon extras that you really want to combat sun rays and increase beach vibes.

The first two are your options to provide shade to riders – which is key for keeping safe from sunrays and perhaps longer naps while you comb the shores.

1. Canopy

A must for those sun filled days is protection for the kiddos.  Veer offers a few different options with their Canopy and more recent release Sunshade – they both have their quirks.

The pros of the Canopy would be that riders themselves can easily pull it up and push it back down, without the help of a parent.  “Look mommy, I can do it all myself!”

White canopy for Veer Stroller Wagon

Canopies also come in tons of cool color options, which of course give your stroller wagon the style points that turn heads.

One con of the canopies would be their overall height of 24 inches from the seat of the stroller wagon to the top of the canopy – meaning sooner later your child’s height might create a problem as their head rubs up against the canopy roof.

Canopy for Veer Stroller wagon

These also don’t create quite a complete shade zone in the stroller wagon – if the sun is high in the sky the rays are going to sneak in. Due to the lack of full coverage, Veer actually sells a Canopy Visor to help stretch the shading offered by the Canopy.

Purchasing two Canopies with the Visors is still a tad cheaper than option two, Veer Sunshade.

2. Sunshade

Sunshade is a newer accessory released from Veer, and there’s a lot to like here when compared to Canopy.

Veer Stroller Wagon adjustable sunshade

From the bottom of the stroller wagon seat to the top of the sunshade measures at 32 inches – meaning it’s going to provide ample headroom for riders and perhaps offer a few more years of usage.

Sunshade gives more complete shade coverage when compared to the canopies and can be adjusted to the side of your stroller wagon depending on the angle of the sun.

Sun shade for Veer Stroller Wagon

When disassembled, Sunshade fits nicely right inside of your folded up Cruiser, making storage simple.

Only one color option, and slightly more expensive than purchasing two Canopies – if you’re headed shoreside in your stroller wagon, either Canopies or Sunshade needs to be top of the accessory list.

3. Coolers

Once you’ve got protection from the sun taken care of, our next accessory to target would be a cooler (or two).

Veer offers two cooler sizes, the smaller Lunch Cooler and larger Day Cooler.

The great thing about Veer coolers is that they attach right onto the stroller wagon, setting them apart from the competition.

lunch cooler for Veer Stroller Wagon

Before you buy the expensive brand name cooler, understand that it’s going to take up space in your stroller wagon seating area, or consume the entire foldable storage basket.

Worse, if you purchase an off-brand cooler and it won’t fit in the stroller wagon, someone (hello hubby) may have to physically haul that bad boy down to the beach.

But guess what – Veer coolers are designed to attach right to the stroller wagon itself – schlepping drinks oceanside is now a thing of the past.

The power of being hands-free can’t be emphasized enough.

Attaching the cooler right onto the stroller wagon gives parents the ability to carry other gear (or, wait for it, perhaps even enjoy a walk on the beach rather than drag a loaded cooler).

Veer Stroller Wagon cooler attached to the sidewalls

Our recommendation would be to get two Lunch Coolers, and attach them to the sides of the stroller wagon. With 6.5 liters of capacity, each Lunch Cooler can hold 6 cans with ice and still have room for snacks.

Give one a go, and if you require even more cold bevies, go for Lunch Cooler number two.

The Day Cooler is more than double that in size of Lunch Cooler, allowing room for a whopping 24 cans, ice, and perhaps a few extras – but attaching it to the stroller wagon will require the Switchback Seat Adapters – a setup that means you’ll lose rider space on one end of the stroller wagon.

Day cooler for Veer Stroller Wagon

For us, Day Cooler is recommended only in certain situations: say you have a Cruiser XL but only two riders (so they can both sit on one side of the stroller wagon and the other can be reserved for Day Cooler).

Or, you want to get use of your stroller wagon even when the kids aren’t in the equation (what? an adults-only event — those are real?).

Regardless of which you choose, Veer coolers’ functionality and look (four color options) will have you staying refreshed and looking great in the summer heat.

4. Beach Wheels

Straight up, these are just awesome.

The balloon tires are something you won’t find with any other stroller wagon brand, and they make total sense for beach families.

Veer Stroller Wagon beach wheels

If you’re headed to the shores twice a year, skip the beach wheels as they are expensive.

The standard Cruiser wheels are truly all-terrain, and they typically work just fine in the sand.  If you really want the crem-de-la-crem, top notch experience – that’s where these balloon tires make all the difference.

If you live on the coastline and beach is life, go for the beach wheels.

Loaded Veer wagon with beach wheels

Especially if you’re totally loaded up, stocked to the gills with gear and kiddos, the beach wheels will help ensure the stroller wagon keeps gliding in soft sand.

They are to be used in pull-mode only, and it’s not going to make dragging the stroller wagon completely effortless by any means – but it’s pretty much the best possible setup for avid beach families.

5. Cruiser Rack

This is another new addition from Veer.

Cruiser Rack has the look of a second handlebar on the opposite end of the stroller wagon – but it’s not for pushing or pulling, it’s specifically designed to help lug beach chairs and other clanky gear that just won’t fit in the wagon itself.

Cruiser rack

It’s not going to get in the way of your foldable storage basket and gives you the ability to lug even more gear.

Similar to the coolers, anything that attaches to the stroller wagon and leaves me hands free, I’m all for.

Similar to beach wheels however, this product is going to be for families making multiple trips to the seaside, not to buy for your one-off vacation.

Looking Good

Sometimes I must confess, I tend to overdress.

Style time – these are the accessories for those of us who dabble in looking good and setting trends.

1. Sidewall Kit

Nothing is immediately going to set your stroller wagon apart like a custom sidewall.

Currently, you’ve got 17 different sidewall colors to choose from (not including college themed sidewalls) – unless you’re really into orange or something, our advice is to not over think it.

Go for Natural or Savanna White – this way regardless of any different color you choose for other stroller wagon accessories, everything will still work well together.

Veer Stroller Wagon sidewalls

If not those two, the blue (Blue Beryl) and pink (Rose Quartz) are super popular choices.

2. Leather Grips

Let’s get real, they look good.

They look really good.

You’ll look really good.

Veer Stroller Wagon leather grip

The leather grips are that posh, touch-of-class, over the top accent that makes your stroller wagon sing.

And if we’re being honest, we might very well be posh, touch-of-class type of people.

3. Seat Pads

The black bench on the Veer Cruiser is contoured great for little bottoms in my opinion, the padded seats aren’t exactly required for smooth transport.

They do however come in five color options which give owners the ability to pop more tones into their ride.

If looking good is the goal, padded seats that match your sidewall kit are going to look super slick.

Hard Pass

The juice may not be worth the squeeze.

1. Shearling Seat Cover

Functional and super cuter – maybe just bring a bunch of blankets instead.

2. Weather Cover

If the weather is so inclement that we need a cover, I might not be out in it that long.  Unless you are the hardcore outdoor, for us a canopy or umbrella will suffice until we can get indoors.

3. Fans

The flex fan and mist fans are neat little devices, but unless it’s for a newborn that can’t yet communicate, a cool drink or dip in the water will suffice.

4. Travel Bags

Veer actually has this awesome new service called Veer Valet.

Veer Valet

Instead of getting a travel bag and trusting your stroller wagon to an airline – we would recommend using Veer Valet to ship it for you, right to your destination.

Other than that Cruiser is a tank, no need for a bag to store it if it needs to sit idle out in the garage for a season.

Veer Stroller Wagon travel bag

Some families may disagree and find it easier to have the stroller wagon at the airport to help lug everything — for us, we prefer to ship the Cruiser and use our Wild Ride carrier to help transport the kiddos.

That’s a Wrap – Fitted and Kitted

Alright, that is a ton of information to drop on every possible bell and whistle available for the Veer Cruiser stroller wagon.

From the extras that help you haul the baby gear, to the perks to ensure you look great doing it – we hope you’re better informed to make the best accessory purchases to keep your clan smiling.

Remember, you don’t have to get everything at once.  Our family probably averages one or two accessories per year.

In my experience, nothing from Veer goes on sale – like ever – the best time to buy would be around black Friday when they offer cash back – any of these accessories would make great gifts for that special mommy or daddy in your life whose stroller wagon obsessed.

And with all these great add on’s, what’s not to love?
