I have a bit of an obsession with diaper bags and admittedly own more than one (okay, maybe more than a few!). Each year, it seems like more stylish and functional options hit the market.
I recently discovered the Kibou Diaper Bag, and it quickly became my favorite! My whole concept of what a diaper bag should be has completely changed since I started using the Kibou.
I use it every day, whether I’m with my kids or not. Let me show you why. Keep reading!
What Does a Kibou Bag Look Like?
The Kibou Bag is not a traditional backpack or tote bag type of diaper bag. It is a fanny pack or belt bag, or cross body bag type of diaper bag. Here’s a look at the diaper bag.
Huh? Never heard of this? Me neither. This was all new to me. How can a belt bag be used as a diaper bag?? Wouldn’t it be too small??
Then I soon realized you can actually fit more than enough baby or kids essentials in the bag!
Why Do I Love Kibou Bag?
1. Ultimate Portability: Carry It Everywhere!
Since 2024, I’ve been obsessed with fanny pack bags. Why? Because my little ones turned into energetic toddlers. The younger one is still technically a baby, but he’s mobile. That changed everything.
I need to chase them and play with them constantly! It’s cumbersome and clunky to wear a huge diaper bag and go down a slide with my toddler, and I don’t feel safe leaving my diaper bag on the ground with my wallet in it.
The Kibou Bag allows me to stay hands-free and worry-free. I can keep my phone and wallet secure while still having the flexibility to run, chase, and play with my kids.
Traditional cross-body bags don’t cut it for carrying baby essentials, but the Kibou Bag does. It fits diapers, wipes, and even includes a detachable changing pad.
2. Perfect for Changing Diapers in Public Bathrooms
Imagine this scenario: you’re in a public bathroom with your baby, and you need to change a diaper.
With traditional backpack diaper bags, you have to dig out everything you need, then either put the diaper bag on the floor (yuck, especially in a public bathroom) or awkwardly sling it back over your shoulder.
Meanwhile, you’re trying to hold your squirming baby, who might not stand still or avoid touching everything.
With the Kibou Bag, this stressful situation becomes a breeze. Everything you need is accessible while wearing the bag. The waterproof pocket for wipes and the detachable changing pad make diaper changes quick and easy, without having to put anything down on a potentially dirty surface.
3. Ideal for Baby-Wearing
If you’re wearing your baby in a carrier, a traditional diaper bag can be a real hassle. You can’t wear a baby on your back and a diaper bag on your back at the same time.
Even if your baby is in a front carrier, having a big, heavy bag on your back is uncomfortable. Some baby carriers lack adequate storage, but the Kibou Bag solves this problem. It’s the perfect companion for baby-wearing parents.
4. Great for Quick Trips and Errands
I don’t always want to take a whole diaper bag for a quick run to the grocery store or other errands.
The Kibou Bag is perfect for these short outings. It’s compact and convenient, holding just the essentials without weighing me down.
5. Excellent for Travel
Traveling with kids can be chaotic, but the Kibou Bag helps keep things organized. When flying, I keep my passport or ID, along with diapers and wipes, in the Kibou Bag.
Everything is right at my fingertips when I need it. For road trips, having my car keys in the Kibou Bag means I’m not frantically searching for them during stops.
6. Beyond a Diaper Bag
Once your little ones outgrow the diaper phase, Kibou transforms into a chic cross-body bag. Perfect for everything from grocery shopping and hiking to jet-setting adventures, it keeps your essentials close and your hands free.
With its stylish design and practical features, the Kibou Bag seamlessly shifts from baby care to everyday fun, making it a must-have for all your exciting escapades!
What to Consider?
While the Kibou Bag is a fantastic minimalist option, it’s not meant to replace a full-sized diaper bag. It can’t hold a complete change of clothes, snacks, baby bottles, and all the other items you might need for a long day out.
I like to carry a traditional diaper bag packed with everything the family might need, and use the Kibou Bag for only the most essential items. This way, the Kibou Bag stays with me wherever I go, keeping the necessities close at hand while I chase and play with my kids.
The cost of Kibou is a little on the pricey side. But the quality is great! If you have some money to spare, it is worth it!

How to Pack a Kibou Bag?
Before I show you how to pack a Kibou Bag, it will be more helpful to show you the features of the bag first.
Key Features
Material: Vegan leather and nylon liner
Dimensions: 11″W x 6″H x 4″D
Weight: 15 ounces
Storage: Total 4 pockets (including one waterproof pocket for wipes and a pocket for a removable changing pad)
Extras: Comes with a changing mat
The Kibou bag comes with a changing mat in one of the packets. So you don’t have to pack any changing pad.
Since the bag is much smaller than a regular diaper bag, the things to put in the bag should be must must haves for baby and you!
The key is to use travel size of the items such as hand creams, diaper cream, sun screen. It will free up more space to pack for other stuff.
Don’t over pack the bag. It won’t look nice.
Here are some example items for different stages of your little ones.
Packing for Baby Who is Still Drinking Bottles
- Diapers (2)
- A bottle that fits the bag
- Ten pieces or more wipes in the wipe pocket
- One Pacifier
- One teether
- A small burp cloth
- One onesie or one set of clothes
- A small diaper cream
- A small sun screen (if needed)
- Personal items for you (Phone, lip balm, keys, cash, sun glasses, credit cards and ID card in the front pocket cards sleeve)
Packing for Baby or Toddler Done with Bottle
You can pack the similar things like the list above, just swap out the bottles and burp cloth to snacks and small toys or bug spray.
Packing for Potty Trained Kids
Potty-trained toddlers! That means no more diapers! Perfect! Instead of packing diapers, you can put a few extra changing clothes in case of accidents.
Remove the changing pad from the back pocket. Use that pocket to pack first aid kits.
I would still pack some diaper wipes or any wipes. Those wipes are so handy to clean off your toddler’s hands or toys or anything!
Who is this for?
Basically, this bag can be used for anyone! Not just moms. There are certain colors such as the black, brown, midnight, olive…suitable colors for dads.
The design is very gender neutral. My husband tried it. It looks really nice on him.
If you are not a parent, no kids, no problem. Just remove the diaper changing pad, use the bag as a normal fanny pack. It’s stylish!
Wrap Up
The Kibou Bag is a must-have for any parent looking to simplify their lives. Its thoughtful design, convenience, and style make it a standout in the world of diaper bags.
Whether you’re running errands, traveling, or just spending a day at the park, the Kibou Bag ensures you’re always prepared without being weighed down.
