Radio Flyer Stroller Wagon – Voya Review

Radio Flyer Stroller Wagon Review

Meet Voya.

It’s like a voyage – but shorter.

Sounds kinda like yoga – flexible and strong.

I don’t know who comes up with these names, but kudos to the marketing group at Radio Flyer.

Beyond a cool name for a product, Voya pretty much checks all the boxes of a stroller wagon.

This puppy is our best bargain buy when we compiled our stroller wagon review of every four wheeled carriage we could get our sticky little fingers on.

What makes it so great? Let’s break it down.

Why is Voya Great?

Price

It’s about the money. honey.

For under $400, you’re not going to find anything better than Voya.

And there is nothing wrong with getting a 4-seater even if you only have two children.  Again, you won’t find another large 4-seat wagon for under $500.

There are no gimmicks or subscriptions or hidden costs, it’s a great product at a great price point.

Explain it to me like I’m Five

Forget 4 different titles for 7 different products I know nothing about.

These are easily understandable names for the same family of stroller wagons that everybody can understand in plain English.

Voya Standard, seats two.

Voya Quad, seats four.

Voya XT Stroller Wagon, seats two

Voya XT Quad Stroller Wagon, seats four.

Voya XT means it has extra tall walls – no XT indicates the smaller side walls.

Finished. Done. Complete.

As a parent, you’ve got schedules and wake windows, you’re running out of diapers, researching the best organic baby formula – not to mention living an actual life of your own – who has time to dive into a brand’s catalog of different names and determine if they are really getting ripped off or not?

Radio Flyer makes it super simple with the name and description of the product, and it’s one thing we love about Voya.

Perks

The actual ones parents need as opposed to the ones that don’t matter at all.

The Volkswagon Wonderfold looks incredibly cool, but try loading this behemoth into the back of your car.

The Evenflo Pivot Xplor has the magic ability to reverse handlebars from one side of the wagon to the other – but try taking this thing offroad (or over a sidewalk curb).

Voya has what you need, and it doesn’t spend time on what doesn’t matter.

Hefty wheels (they get the job done).

Canopies. Check.

Snack Tray. Check.

Bonus handlebar for if (when) you get stuck somewhere and switch from pushing to pulling the wagon (so key – so underrated).  Check plus.

Peek-a-boo window on the canopies. Parent organizer. Storage basket included.

These are the perks that count, and it’s what Radio Flyer spent time on ensuring comes standard with your Voya.

Items like the Infant Car Seat Adapter and Rain Cover are sold separately, but these are not necessarily extras that every family is going to need or want.

The Tall Wall Zip

Radio Flyer Voya stroller wagon side wall

I’ve mentioned before my preference for the lower walled stroller wagons – I like the idea of my kids being engaged in their surroundings with a front row seat to life as we zoom around in our wagon.

Our family also loves when the kids have the ability to come and go as they please.  I’ll buckle them in their harness, but they LOVE being able to climb in and out themselves over the small walls.

“I can do it myself!”

I have however received some pushback from other parents, and realize some people out there really love the higher walled options – be it for privacy or style or function.

What is great about the Voya XT is the little zip up entrance/escape hatch allowing your mini passengers to get in and out without having to be picked up 4 feet to clear a wagon wall.

They still have the ability to somewhat come and go as they please without your assistance.

To us, that’s part of the fun of a stroller wagon.  It’s not a jail cell for kids – it’s a chill spot to snack and relax when you’re tired of walking.

If your preference is the higher walls, this is yet another underrated perk of the Voya – and when your back is aching from a day of lugging around the diaper bag, you’ll notice it paying dividends.

Cons

Hold my Drink

Okay so it can’t all be sunshine and rainbows, there are a few slight cons we’ve come across.

One tiny negative for me is the cupholder, which is down low and not up at handlebar height.

Voya does come with the parent organizer, but if your coffee doesn’t have a lid, that could mean hot liquid spilling all over Timmy and Tommy.

Is it kind of inconvenient, yes.

Is this a deal breaker, no.

What it means is that you’re going to have to bend down to child level to get your drink every time you want a sip — or put your drinks in a Yeti with a secured lid so they can travel in the parent organizer on the handlebar.

It kind of hinders those quick stops into Starbucks for a latte (oat milk please) unless you’re really prepared with an empty water bottle.

Maneuvering a stroller wagon with one hand while you juggle warm coffee is not the pro move – and lets face it, you’re the family with the wagon because you’re a pro parent.

Big and Bad Enough

The only other con for us is the overall ruggedness.

Hardcore wheels, frames and suspension systems can really set some stroller wagons apart.

Brands like Veer just released beach wheels for their Cruiser wagons – meaning parents can traverse a wagon full of kids and gear across sandy dunes.

Is Voya at that level, no.

But this is why you’re considering a Voya – because you’re not expecting it to go offroad down the hiking trail to the edge of the earth, but rather around the block on warm evenings and to the zoo a couple times a year.

The ruggedness of the Voya is not the absolute best among wagons, but it is well above average when compared to the competition, and it’s going to get your family where they need to go.

Bon Voya(ge)!

Well there you have it. Radio Flyer has got the goods at a good price point with the Voya.

A slight con or two, but our hope is that the perks and pros really shine through in this review, because the product is truly awesome.

For any parent considering something from a brand not named Veer, the Voya is an absolute no brainer.  Don’t waste your time researching another second, close the deal, buy a Voya, and start enjoying family life with a stroller wagon – you won’t regret it.
