The ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas. The main event. Showtime for the baby industry. Countless booths. Clothes, gear, and accessories as far as the eye can see — all dedicated exclusively to babies and the parents that raise them.
When I first heard about this event, and the brands that would be there, I knew I had to make the effort to attend. It is the Super Bowl of baby gear — if I pride myself on being an expert, I needed to check it out.
This would be my first flight with two young children. The adventure included a three-hour time zone change from the East Coast and the Vegas gambling strip (not exactly the vibe for my young family) — was it really worth all the hassle?
Yes!
Getting to see the latest and greatest from some of the biggest names in the baby world was incredible! The show did not disappoint.
Here are a few of my key takeaways and biggest winners from the 2024 ABC Kids Expo of the coolest car seats, strollers, and stroller wagons.
The Treasure Trove of New Wagons, Car Seats, and Strollers
1. Veer
To make getting around the show easier, I knew I needed the right stroller wagon. Our family rented the Veer Cruiser from Baby Quip and it legit made our trip.
This bad boy held up to the extreme temperatures in Las Vegas as well as maneuvering the tight spaces of the expo – my children loved this thing, even climbing in and out of the wagon while parked idle at our rental house.
Switching modes from pushing to pulling is a breeze, likewise, folding it up for car storage was simple and intuitive. There are a few competitors gaining traction in the stroller wagon game (it seems everyone is “hopping on the wagon”), but Veer is still elite.
Their Cruiser City and XL options make the Veer lineup customizable to suit any family regardless of size or needs.
New additions from Veer are these slick beach tires which make traversing on sand easier – current wagon owners can purchase the beach wheel kit to swap in and out with the standard all terrain wheels.
My husband particularly loves the new coolers. The big day cooler fits up to 24 cans plus ice. The smaller lunch cooler fits 6 cans plus ice. Both coolers have the ability to attach to either the wagon or stroller.
Top for me were the new colors. Wagon owners are able to mix and match different sidewalls and canopies to customize their ride. Very cool stuff as always from one of the best doing it.
2. Thule
Another one of my personal favorites, Thule was the only brand to actually drive a car into the expo to help show off some of their new products.
Thule is the darling of any traveling family, I only wish they could display all their various car top accessories, which might turn the expo into more of an outdoorsman show I guess?
Their carriers are built for the adventurous family – numerous strollers, child carrier backpacks, child bike seats (both rear and front), bike trailers for kids and now dogs! The latest from Thule, a bike trailer for your favorite k9 companion.
They also revealed a new stroller – Urban Glide at the expo. Their old lineup included only three wheels; they now offer a four wheel option. Rugged enough to handle any terrain, stylish enough for a fashion show.
3. Larktale
Another big name in stroller wagons, Larktale’s Crossover is the first single stroller, suitable for a newborn, with the ability to morph into a double-seater pull wagon.
The brand offers a variety of different stroller wagons – Caravan, available in both 2 and 4 seaters. On display in Vegas were some posh new color options, along with a new handlebar console for storage while you stroll.
4. Wonderfold
Stroller wagons are definitely gaining popularity, and Wonderfold is another one of the originators. Their wagons are typically a bit deeper than competitors, with larger vertical walls and footwells.
One new feature from the group at Wonderfold was the taller full-coverage sun canopies with some fashionable new color patterns.
5. Evenflo
Evenflo is another company in the space that does a little bit of everything, from strollers to car seats to stroller wagons.
I especially like their new stroller wagon – the Shyft Rideshare offers both a pulling a pushing function, large sun canopy, two adjustable cup holders (inside or outside the handle frame).
This wagon is appropriate for kids 5 months to 6 years old. It also includes a built-in infant car seat attachment for the LiteMax Infant Car Seat.
Another new stroller wagon from Evenflo is Pivot Xplore Dreamz. The main difference between this new wagon and the original Pivot Xplore wagon is the bassinet insert. The new wagon can be converted into a bassinet for baby to nap!
Other new products from Evenflo are DualRide Infant Car Seat and Revolve 360 Extend All-in-One Rotational Car Seat.
The DualRide Infant Car Seat is similar to a Doona, an infant car seat that can convert into a stroller.
Revolve 360 Extend All-in-One Rotational Car Seat is a car seat can be used from birth to a little kid. The capacity is from 4 lbs to 120 lbs.
The car seat can also rotate 360 degrees. Owners can now swivel the car seat towards them to put more easily strap child in and out. Another perk is not having to reinstall the car seat when switching from rear facing to front facing.
My favorite new gear from Evenflo is this Pivot Troop! Your little one sits on top, while your favorite furry friend lays in the basket! How sweet! A stroller for both kids and pets.
It also features a dog poop bag compartment and treat holder.
6. Britax
Out of all the booths visited, Britax was among the most impressive. The company has slimmed down the width of their child car seats along with featuring plush material, and an appealing softer color palette.
The booth seemed like a complete Britax face lift! I had not been a fan of the older infant car seat, a bit too deep for my daughter (not to mention the screaming bright red color).
Britax is clearly taking feedback from parents and implementing – the new infant car seats are more comfortable and display a slick set of design options. It shows how perceptive this brand is and hopefully puts them in a great position for years to come.
New Britax One4life Slim is the all-in-one convertible car seat from birth to booster. they can fit in one role all 3-across. Each car seat is 17.5 inches wide. I especially like the new colors they boast as well!
7. Bob Gear
Bob Gear has always been top for parents who love to jog, but if you’re in the market for a wagon check out their stylish, rugged (and affordable) Renegade Wagon.
8. Joovy
I just think Joovy is cool. My favorite has to be their line of stroller gear, which come in an array of options. I have two kids old enough to strap into their assigned stroller seat, but for some reason they refuse.
Preferring instead to sit in the bottom compartment, a space normally designed for storage. The Joovy Caboose UL is the perfect option for us, allowing one child to sit forward-facing in a typical stroller seat, while the other can face backward on a lockable rear bench seat.
Once one gets jealous of their sibling and wants to change seats (which inevitably happens), the switch is easily manageable.
Depending on your family’s needs and preferences, Joovy has a variety of customizable strollers and accessories to match.
9. Bugaboo
Another big name in the stroller business, Bugaboo had a great showing at the expo. They currently offer a side-by-side double stroller (the Donkey 5).
Kangaroo – new to the company this year is the inline double stroller. It is very easy to maneuver, and smaller than you’d expect.
10. Nuna
Nuna came, they saw, they conquered. I own plenty of Nuna products, there isn’t much here not to love. Their booth was buzzing for three days straight – a lot of the competition seems to replicate the colors and patterns you find with Nuna.
Trivl Dubl – The new item from them, a side by side stroller not yet available on their website.
SWIV Stroller – New slick design and super easy to maneuver stroller from Nuna. You’ll see this stroller come to market later this year.
11. Peg Perego
Peg Perego, an Italian stroller and car seat brand had a great showing at the expo. Now you can imagine the stylish look of their baby gear! There was no disappointment with their new gear!
Volo Ultra – A new travel stroller from Peg Perego. It is super light weight with a dark blue color. The folded size can fit into a overhead cabin on a plane.
New color of the YPSI single to double stroller.
Peg Perego City Loop stroller with the Primo Viaggio 4-35 Urban Mobility infant car seat. The City Loop is a new lightweight single stroller! The stroller won’t be available until early 2025.
Primo Viaggio 4-35 Urban Mobility infant car seat doesn’t require a base. Sounds familiar? Just like the Nuna Pipa Urban Travel System! Both City Loop and Primo Viaggio are great options for city life!
12. Stokke
It’s not a baby show without Stokke. They were another popular booth — hard to find a good time to take nice photos!
If you know Stokke, you may be familiar with their lightweight stroller Yoyo.
New from them is the Yoyo Bonpoint! I’ve included for you below a new color Yoyo stroller 0+ newborn pack. A collaboration between Yoyo Stroller and Bonpoint, the French luxury childrenswear House. Magnifique!
13. Doona
Doona, the one who created the infant car seat that converts to a stroller! That’s not what I am going to show you here.
What I learned from them is this tricycle is more popular in Asian countries than the infant car seat plus stroller!
Liki Trike, the world’s most compact folding trike! A great alternative to your stroller!
14. Diono
The only three-row high back booster car seats in the game (that I know of before the ABC expo), these seats are built to keep kids safe while maintaining a certain level of panache.
I learned a lot about Diono at the show and why they are unique players in the car seat game.
This seat is perfect for parents looking to stick with a sedan instead of buying a larger vehicle. The three-row option opens up different possibilities for larger families who don’t want (or can’t afford) the big SUV’s and minivans.
Stand-alone, Diono car seats have many unique settings (12 different back height adjustments!), which allow them to last longer and stand out from the competition.
Conclusion
These are the car seats, strollers, and stroller wagons of 2024. Some are already out in the market, some won’t become available until later this year.
There is actually more new cool baby gear in car seats, strollers, and wagons at the ABC Kids Expo, I just wasn’t able to record all of them. Well, maybe next year.
I hope these are helpful for you if you are looking to upgrade your baby gear, or you are having a baby soon! A sneak peak of what’s coming to the baby gear market soon in 2024!
