When I came across the Veer Cruiser – or as many call it, the Veer Stroller Wagon – it instantly caught my eye.
Slick. Stylish…
Expensive.
This thing looks so much different from the other stroller wagons on the market.
Being a baby gear sleuth, it was time for some investigation – I knew I needed to dig deeper.
Initially, the price tag (you’re gonna charge me what?) stopped me from just jumping in head first.
It’s for real one of the most expensive stroller wagons out there, and as a thrifty (cheap?) parent, I couldn’t bring myself to spend that kind of money before making sure it was truly worth it.

As I always do with gear I’m interested in, I rented a Veer Cruiser from Baby Quip for our trip to the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas.
Veer did not disappoint me or my husband – more importantly (all importantly) it didn’t disappoint the kids. We absolutely love this thing!
Why is the Veer Cruiser Great? TL; DR
Sometimes I wish there was more to discover in stroller wagon land.
A stroller wagon rabbit hole to dig down, full of secret discount products right around the next corner (or half hour of doom scrolling).
More stroller wagon brands yet to be discovered – some secret sauce I’m not seeing yet – but if I’m being real, it’s pretty black and white, plain as day – Veer is the bell of the ball.
The best stroller wagon, period.
Is it expensive?
Yes, you can bet your bottom dollar it is (more like seven or eight hundred of your bottom dollars).
Is it worth the price?
Well, when you’re at the park and notice a family, stroller wagon full of wet kids, getting drenched with some cheap flimsy overhead cover — or another stuck in muck, parents struggling to pull their loaded wagon up a hill – the answer is yes.
Over and over again, yes.
It actually almost makes you feel guilty for having a superb product (“do you’re kids want to get out of the rain and warm up in our Cruiser?”)
Veer is the originator of the stroller wagon industry (for real, they invented these things), and in our opinion they’ve perfected the mechanics.
Their stroller wagon is high quality. It’s the best out there when it comes to pull, push, and maneuvering on all kinds of surfaces (they’ve even got a beach wheel kit for the sand).
When it comes to perks Veer offers different color options and add ons galore – you can pretty much fit your Cruiser to match your families exact style and needs.
A newborn on the way? There’s an insert for an infant car seat carrier.
Rain covers if you live in Seattle.
Sunshade and canopy options if you’re drenched in sun.
Pink sidewalls if the girls love it – college sidewalls if you’re an avid tailgator.
The experience with Cruiser is unmatched.
Folding and unfolding is intuitive – it’s uber lightweight and fits in the trunk of pretty much any vehicle.
Veer Cruiser (really, any product from this brand in general) always leaves me saying “Wow, I didn’t know it could do that!” rather than “Well, I really wish it could do that” (frowny face).

All Terrain Performance

Engineered with large, rugged, durable wheels and robust suspension, the Veer wagon seamlessly handles various terrains.
The large front wheels make it easy to roll over bumps, curbs, and roots…noticeably better than other stroller wagons.
It can easily push up and down the hills, along the grass, or even the snow.
The push-pull functioning on Veer can’t be overstated. On softer grounds, things that pull typically have the upper hand.
So, say you’re on hard-packed sand – the Cruiser is a champ. Whether you’re pushing or pulling, it moves like a dream, even when it’s full of gear (and tiny humans).
Now, if that sand is just moderately packed, pulling your Cruiser becomes the easier way to go.
But, if you’re venturing into deep, loose sand and your Cruiser’s loaded to the gills, you might find things getting a bit… sticky. Or sandy, in this case.
That’s why the one handlebar technology, with the ability to hinge on a low attachment point to the wagon itself is absolutely crucial.
Other stroller wagon brands (like Gladly, Joey) offer similar handlebar mechanics – Veer is tops.
Single Handle Push and Pull
With one handle, you can easily switch between push and pull.
Just lock the handlebar in the upright position, and push the wagon like a stroller.
I do find it takes a little time to get the hang of the pushing. Unlike strollers, the front wheels of the Veer Cruiser don’t swivel. It’s the rear wheels that swivel.
If you’re going to be using your stroller wagon in a metropolitan area, or just really like that ‘stroller push’ feel, Veer does also offer the Cruiser City, which is flipped (big wheels closer to the handlebar, smaller swivel wheels on the far end)
It wasn’t easy to push a straight line at the beginning. Once I got used to it, it became very easy to handle.
The handlebar height can also be adjusted, so it’s comfortable for both moms and dads of differing heights.
One-Hand Fold and Self-Standing

The Veer wagon folds and unfolds in less than 20 seconds. Push all the side walls down, and bring the handle down.
That’s it. Just reverse to unfold.
You do have to take off all the accessories to fold the wagon. That process probably takes longer than the folding of the wagon itself, especially when you fill the storage with all your essentials. But that’s going to be pretty much the same across all brands of stroller wagons.
Once folded, it stands on its own, making storage straightforward and hassle-free.
Quick and easy folding and unfolding.
Take off the wheels with the push of a button to make it even smaller and create more space.
Your little ones won’t be waiting and screaming in the car while you wrestle folding up the wagon – it’s really a one minute operation.
Contoured and Vented Seats with Footwell
The seats are vented. That means this whole thing is breathable during the hot summer months.
For the winter, you can purchase the toddler seat with a 5-point harness to add more padding and comfortability.
Veer offers a shearling seat cover, seat pads (in an array of colors) – you can pretty much kit this thing out however you want.
Or, since you’ve spent a boat load on the wagon itself, you can always skimp on the accessories and just bring a bunch of blankets to create the padding you need.
The footwell is a must for us on any stroller wagon – a feature that provides a natural sitting position. It’s more comfortable for younger kids during those long rides and the footwell also allows adequate room for older children.
Accessories Galore
There is an ever growing list of accessories available for The Veer Stroller Wagon, which really set it apart from the competition.
Custom colored (also college-themed) sidewalls to change the exterior of the wagon.
A nap system and bug shield that will keep babies safe and cozy to catch some zzz’s – also great to offer a little privacy when a diaper needs to be changed.
An extra handlebar attachment that serves as a beach chair rack (or rack for any tall objects you need to haul shoreside.
Two different size coolers that attach right onto the stroller wagon itself.
They just keep coming out with more every time I turn around — but trust me, you don’t need them all.
There are a few key accessories that might be really useful for your daily outings.

Snack tray with cup holders – It comes with the wagon. It can be easily put on or taken off.
Storage basket – It’s made of lightweight aluminum, and it latches onto the front side (the big wheel side) of the wagon. If you’re not using it, you can fold it up without even having to take it off.
The basket has a unique soft-sided design – just toss it in the washing machine when it gets dirty.
Plus, it comes with this cool mesh zipper hood. Lay it at the bottom, or cover up your stuff to double the space.
Like most everything from Veer, the basket has a well thought out construction – and it’s probably the one accessory you kinda need.
Canopy -Just like a stroller canopy, it is retractable with a peek-a-boo window. It’s got this cool magnet feature to keep it propped up. To install it, just quickly clip onto Cruiser’s frame.
There is a wide range of color options to choose from. Very intuitive to fit properly plus it adds a bit of style!
Veer also offers a visor attachment for a bit of extended coverage.
If you’re a beach family and plan on years of use, we might recommend their Sunshade as opposed to Canopy, which is a bit taller for older children and offers a tad more coverage than the canopies.
Napping System -The napping system turns the stroller wagon into a JPMA safety-certified bassinet. It is designed for babies from birth up to 20 lbs.
The napping function makes a great changing station on the go as well!
It neatly folds up into its little storage bag that attaches straight to the front of the Cruiser. And if you’re thinking about where else to stash it, it fits perfectly into the Foldable Storage Basket.
You can stuff some blankets down in the footwell to create a similar padding, but Nap System was specifically designed for your baby to sleep in the Cruiser – and those extra minutes of napping while parents get to actually hold a conversation are precious.
Infant Car Seat Adapter – This feature is genius in my opinion. It turns the stroller wagon into a travel system. Your adventure with your growing family doesn’t have to stop with your newborn baby.
Be sure to purchase the correct adapter for your infant car seat brand. This is the list of infant car seats that are compatible with Cruiser.

Pricing
There used to be only one Veer Wagon – The Cruiser (2-seat). After seeing the instant success, they came out with the 4-seat stroller wagon – The Cruiser XL.
We ended up buying the XL even though we only have two children. For us bigger is better and sometimes the kids like to sit right next to each other – XL just gives us options.
Regular pricing below, I have yet to see any sales on any of the Veer Wagons.
The absolute best time to buy is going to be in the fall, right around Thanksgiving time, when they offer the best promotional discounts of the year.
The Cruiser: $699.00
The Cruiser XL: $799.00
These prices only come with the stroller wagon, cup holders, and snack tray.
If you want to get the canopy, storage basket, or other accessories, you will need to buy them separately.
There is an essentials bundle that gives you the wagon, canopy, and storage basket at a slightly lower price, worth the value in our opinion.
Pros & Cons

Pros
Slick Design– This might be subjective, but I like good-looking baby gear! The customizable side walls and canopies just make it more stylish and fun. With Veer, you will turn heads and people will come ask you questions about your stroller wagon.
Easy to Clean – The open design of its interior makes it easy to access and remove crumbs. The seats are made of hard plastic. Therefore it is very easy to clean them. Sidewall fabrics can be spot-cleaned. Bottom line, hose it down if you don’t want to spot-clean it. Just point and shoot. This makes the Cruiser by far the easiest to clean among all stroller wagons we’ve tested.
Great Maneuverability – The Veer stroller wagon truly excels when it comes to navigating varied surfaces. Its movements – whether you’re pushing, pulling, pushing-next-to (what Veer calls ‘Push Along’), or turning – are notably smooth.
Compact and Light Weight – Veer Cruiser is the lightest stroller wagon of its type. The Cruiser weighs 32.6 lbs, and the Cruiser XL weighs 36.7 lbs). It also folds into a nice size – 37” x 20” x 14” (37” x 24” x 14” for Cruiser XL). You can remove the wheels for an even more compact size. It can fit into almost all cars – very easy to lift in and out of the car if you do frequent car rides with the wagon.
Durable Quality Materials– Veer wagon uses large rugged, knobby, polyurethane foam tires. Unlike rubber wheels, polyurethane foam tires are more durable and have a longer lifespan. This thing is built like a tank. You can take the Cruiser through any hazard and not worry about wearing the wagon.
Excellent Customer Service – Veer provides excellent customer service. They normally respond quickly and resolve any issues. The company also offers replacement parts if needed.
Cons
Expensive – The Veer wagon costs between $700 and $800 with the bare minimum. If you want to get the basic accessories, the bundle costs close to $1K depending on the size of the wagon. It can add up quickly with all kinds of accessories.
Footwell – We love wagons with a footwell as opposed to those without. I put it as a con only because the size of the footwell may not be deep enough. It’s not a problem with younger kids, but as they grow older, it can become uncomfortable and the deeper footwells allow for taller children. Definitely nitpicking here as it’s hard to find anything bad to say outside of price.
Who is this for?
The Veer Wagon is primarily designed for active parents and caregivers who are frequently on the move – be it shopping, picnics, outdoor adventures, or casual walks.
Whether you have one to four young kids, this wagon accommodates them comfortably.
Moreover, if you’re a parent who often finds regular strollers lacking in storage space or seeks a more adaptable child-transport solution, the Veer Cruiser is for you.
What’s the age range?
The youngest age is 0. If you are willing to get the infant car seat adapter, you can put your newborn in the infant car seat in the Cruiser.
One unique perk regarding this is the placement of the infant car seat – families have four different positions to choose from, whereas other stroller wagons may offer the infant car seat adapters, but you only have one option for where it connects to the wagon itself.
The oldest age, well that depends. The capacity of each seat is 55 lbs. The Cruiser maxes out at 110 lbs. The Cruiser XL maxes out at 220 lbs. The cargo-only weight capacity for both wagons is 250 lbs.
So, if you’re feeling cheeky (and have been keeping in shape), you might just be able to wheel your high schooler up to get their diploma.
But, in all seriousness, the Veer stroller wagon is ideally designed for the littlest members of your crew, from newborns to 5-year-olds.
That means it’s got staying power and will be with you for way longer than that regular stroller collecting dust in your garage.
What is the Veer Wagon?
The Veer Wagon – officially named The Cruiser or The Cruiser XL, is the world’s first all-terrain stroller wagon. It combines the safety of a premium stroller and the fun of a rugged wagon cross-over.
The Veer Wagon is the first product of the Veer Gear company.
It was invented with the mind of providing mobility and independence for parents and kids. This invention gave families the opportunity to discover the most rewarding destination of all: That place within their children where curiosity lives.
Veer continues to grow and innovate. The Veer wagon can accommodate a baby, allow a toddler to nap, comfy 5-point harness seats…and more.
Veer invented their Switchback System, which is another genius product in our opinion. Instead of buying more and more seats (highchairs for mealtime, baby bike chairs, stroller seats, baby bouncers) Switchback is your all-in-one stroller and high chair system.
Attach it to an array of different frames (such as Cruiser stroller wagon itself), use the Switchback Seat to do way more than other stroller seats.
All in all, what Switchback really adds up to is less transitions for babies, and less gear overall that you’ll need to buy.
Pick up the whole seat (kid inside) right out of the stroller, flip down the bottom, and plop them onto their chair at the restaurant — you just created a high chair – don’t need to use some dirty public baby seat or buy a portable high chair.
Transitions can be a pain, and Switchback seat just allows for families to do more and experience less of them.
You don’t need to worry about the Cruiser falling behind the curve on any new stroller wagons accessories – they pretty much set the trends, and seem to always come out with new and better solutions for parents.
Conclusion
Our family loves the Veer Cruiser Wagon.
It has officially replaced our double stroller and we use it constantly.
I realize this can be a personal preference, and I don’t want to sway you — but I do hope this review can help you to have a better understanding of this particular stroller wagon.
I do think this stroller wagon is too expensive, but our family intends to use it forever!! Even when my two kids outgrow the Cruiser, I plan on using it as a wagon, so for me the investment is well worth it.
I did mention you can hose it clean right?!

The Veer Wagon Alternatives
If you don’t like Veer wagon or find it a bit too pricey, worry not, there are many other options.
Gladly Family Anthem: Similar to Veer Wagon style at a more affordable price. The canopies and storage basket come with the package. Read our Gladly Anthem review to find out if it’s right for you.
Radio Flyer Voya: Another compact design stroller wagon with an even lower price. A trusted brand with more accessories that come with your wagon purchase. Voya comes with both high walls (similar to Wonderfold) and low walls (like Veer) depending on your style. Check out our Radio Flyer Voya review.
Larktale 2023 Caravan: A classic-boxy-looking wagon with spacious room for kids to sit and play. Multi-position individual reclining seats with blackout canopy provide one comfy ride for the kids. Less all-terrain, more of an aircraft carrier on wheels — very spacious, good for families who plan to stay on paths and sidewalks.
