Coterie Diapers

Coterie Diapers are now my go-to, the final stop on my diaper brand journey! You see, I’ve been through a whole lineup with my two little ones.

For my daughter, Pamper Pure was okay, but let me tell you, they just couldn’t handle my son’s, let’s say, enthusiastic 90% poopy blowouts. But then, enter Coterie Diapers – what a game-changer! These diapers have seriously cut down on those messy blowouts. It’s been such a relief!

My husband and mom both agree, Coterie diapers are the best disposable diapers. Let me show you why I love them.

What do I love about Coterie diapers?

1. Significantly Reduced Leaks and Diaper blowouts

Coterie diapers have been a total lifesaver, especially with Noah, my second. He was using Pamper Pure, but I was constantly dealing with his massive poopy blowouts. I tried other diaper brands, but nothing clicked until Coterie. These diapers? They’ve turned things around!

The blowouts are much less frequent after the switch. It’s not always the diaper’s fault—Noah has his unique ways, and boy, does he keep things interesting. But with Coterie, life’s much smoother. Actually, the diaper blowouts have not happened for months.

And then there’s Sarah, my little girl. She didn’t have all the blowout dramas, but the issue with her was leaks. She seems to drink more fluids than her little body can hold. Leaks tended to occur with other brand diapers, especially when I would push a diaper’s limits on long car rides. Since switching to Coterie, we’ve had zero leaks.

They fit like a dream, super absorbent, and those tiny tushies? Comfier than ever. It’s been a real win for the whole family!

2. Apparel grade softness

They’re incredibly soft. Even softer than Pamper Pure, but what’s great is they manage to keep their shape really well, making the diaper fit snugly.

You know how some diaper brands can feel smooth but kind of waxy? As if they have some chemical sprayed on the exterior? Coterie diapers are different; they feel natural, almost like a cloth undie. They’re comfy enough to wear all day, every day.

3. The snug design looks like an undie

One thing that really struck me about Coterie diapers is how well they fit. None of those awkward shapes you sometimes see after strapping a diaper on a baby. They’re nicely rounded, hugging those little bottoms perfectly – it’s a fit that’s not just comfortable for them, but also looks good to the eye.

And let’s talk about flexibility. Noah is all go, go, go – typical boy, right? Coterie diapers keep up with him no problem. They totally aced the movement test. I’ve had zero leaks, even when he’s in full-on action mode.

4. Easy to put on

Coterie diapers easy to put on waistbands

Do you ever wrestled with a diaper during a change, struggling to pull out the waistbands? That’s just not a thing with Coterie diapers. They lay out so nicely, making it super easy to grab the waistbands. No more fighting the diaper – just bing, bang, boom, and the diaper change is done.

5. Clean and safe materials

The coterie diapers have no scents or colors. Good or bad, this can be a personal preference. But waht this means is that these diapers don’t have any harsh chemicals. No one is going to stare at your baby’s diaper all the time. Mostly they won’t be seen, which is what I prefer.

According to the company, it’s hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, cruelty-free, 25% plant-based materials. The materials are free of 200+ chemicals: no fragrance, lotion, latex, rubber, dyes, alcohol, heavy metals, parabens, phthalates, pesticides, chlorine bleaching, VOCs, or optical brighteners

If your baby has a sensitave skin, this is a perfect diaper for you. My Noah struggles with skin issues on his back and legs, but with Coterie diapers, he has never developed any irritating diaper rash.

The Drawbacks of Coterie diapers

1. No size indicated on the diaper

No size indicated on Coterie Diapers

I am currently using size 3 and size 4 for 1-year-old and 2-year-old. As you can tell, arpart from size these diapers look exactly the same! When I put them together, I literally have to compare them to find out which one is bigger and which one is smaller.

I wish they could have the size printed on the diaper. But if you only do diaper changes for one baby, this won’t be an issue.

2. Expensive

Coterie diapers are expensive. Period! Our daily poopy diaper blowout really pushed me to try these out, or I probably would have never come across them. They are significantly more expensive than other diaper brands.

For example, Pamper Pure, 104 count cost $39.77 for size 4 (Walmart price at publishing date). One diaper cost is 38.2 cents (39.77/104=0.382)

Regular Coterie diapers cost $90 for 150 counts. One diaper cost is 60 cents (90/150=0.6)

If you want to buy 150-count pamper pure size 4 diapers, it will cost $57.3. Coterie size 4 diapers are $32 or 56% more expensive.

Pricing

The original price is $90 for 186 counts. 186 count is about one month’s supply assuming 6 diaper changes per day.

You can subscribe monthly to get 10% off. I am currently on the subscription, so I can just set it and forget it.

Different sizes comes with different counts in each month’s package. The amount is based on how many diapers your baby will need at his or her age. Right now the subscription works great for our family and I never run out of diapers.

Coterie offers bundle packages with wipes. You can get more value out of the bundle. Currently, Coterie has a 15% discount on all diapers when you combine.

Where can you buy Coterie diapers?

The best way to buy Coterie diapers is from the Coterie website. Because Coterie only offers auto renewal on their website, this is the most effective way to save money.

However, if you are in a hurry, you can also buy Coterie diapers from Whole Foods, Erewhon Market, Wegmans Food Markets, and Pottery Barn Kids.

For registry, they are available in Babylist and Amazon.

You can also find Coterie on the Nanit baby monitor website.

How to Shop for Disposable Diapers

1. Start Small

For newborns, start with the smallest package of the size nb. Babies grow very fast at the newborn stage. They can outgrow the newborn size very quickly.

I bought too many diapers for Sarah as I had no experience and was too excited to buy a lot of baby stuff as a first-time parent. A lot of diapers were wasted. I did so much better with Noah for the second time.

2. Try different brands

It is hard to know which diaper is the right one for your precious baby just from the reviews. The best way to find out what is the right brand for your baby is by testing them out.

I bought different brands with the smallest package to try them out. Or put different brands of diapers in your registry instead of one brand.

Almost all the welcoming packages from baby registries include free diaper samples for you to try out. It’s a good way to test out different brands without buying huge amounts of them.

3. Look for the safe materials

I find it overwhelming to check the ingredients of a diaper, especially for a busy mom. I’m not a chemist, and with English being my second language, it’s even tougher to understand all those complex ingredients.

Amy’s Tips

Here are a few easy and helpful tips to check if a diaper is made with safe materials.

  1. Free from harmful chemicals – See if the brand is promoting that they are using safe materials and if they are listing all the ingredients they are using.

  2. No scents on the diaper – Scents are made with synthetic chemicals that could lead to skin rash and even allergies.

  3. No prints on the diaper – Prints on the diaper mean dyes. The problem with dyes is potential skin irritation. The worst dyes have heavy metal such as lead.

FAQ

Do coterie diapers run big or small?

They are true to size.

I find the size chart from the Coterie website is accurate for my babies.

Do coterie diapers change color when wet?

Yes, there is a blue line that indicates if the diaper is wet or not. It also shows how wet the diaper is depending on how long the blue line is. If the blue line is short, that means the diaper is not very wet.

Some other brands have flashy colors or characters that pop up indicating a wet diaper, but I prefer the soft blue/yellow lines of Coterie. Also, they will not show through white short or pants which is not always the case with other brands.

Verdict

I love Coterie Diapers. They use safe materials, are super absorbent, and incredibly soft. We’ve had no skin issues, far fewer leaks, and almost no blowouts with them.

So yeah, they’re definitely worth the investment. The time and water I’ve saved by not having to constantly wash poopy clothes? Totally worth it.

If your baby doesn’t often sensitive skin (or Noah’s blowouts), most diapers will do the trick. But if it’s within your budget, Coterie is a fantastic choice for your baby’s essentials.

You could even use them just for overnight. If they help your baby sleep more comfortably and longer, that means more sleep for you, too!
